Back for a 2nd installment is your favorite offensive comedy show Ignorant! Don’t get too comfortable thinking this is just your average stand-up show. Ignorant! combines stand-up comedy, audience participation, and hits on topics that are not for the faint of heart. Headlining will be Boston comedian Sam Ike and the show will feature Al Ghanekar. Ignorant! is hosted by Gabriel Moore and Krister Rollins and was created by Gabriel Moore.
Gabriel Moore was inspired to create Ignorant! because he wanted there to be a place in Portland where comics could do material without being afraid of offending people. Raw comedy was more important to him than appealing to a more family-friendly audience. The idea gestated in his mind for months while listening to podcasts. He found he loved listening to comics talk to each other more than listening to their stage personas. He noticed most comics were funniest when given no rules, and Gabriel decided he wanted to give Portland, Maine the opportunity to see comics in their element with no rules as well. Gabriel enlisted the help of his colleague Krister Rollins to assist in creating the show you see today.
This show will be headlined by Sam Ike and will feature Al Ghanekar. Sam Ike is a comedian from Boston. His unique stage presence and observations have made him loved by audiences all over the country. He’s performed in comedy festivals like Limestone, SF Sketchfest, Big Sky, and the Second City/NBC Universal Breakout Festival in Chicago. He’s also been featured on NPR’s You’re the Expert, The Bechdel Cast on How Stuff Works Network, and The Check Spot on Sirius XM. Often you can see Sam as the cohost of the popular weekly shows Cityside Comedy. Al Ghanekar is a stand-up comedian in the Maine comedy scene. He grew up in Wilmington, DE and from the age of 22 spent 8 years in Washington, DC as an actor working in different independent films. After deciding to leave the acting world in 2015, he developed an interest in stand-up comedy. Since then, Al has performed all over New England and hosted for national headliners at Funnybone Comedy Club in the midwest. He has performed all over the world, including different parts of the U.S., Sydney, Australia and Mumbai, India.
