Hey Party People! We’re back, with more Sagi-Tear-It-Up fun for 2018!! It’s Version 2.0, with a new location (Portland House of Music) and a great new band (Gina and the Red Eye Flight Crew). So, save the date, and get your party shoes polished up…
Here’s the background: Some of us are (un)lucky enough to have birthdays during the holiday season, and inevitably, there is too much going to plan a proper birthday party. This is the (2nd) year that is all going to change. Brian Eng, Christina Cinelli, Molly Brown, and Erin Cinelli are banding together to throw a party to remember – the Sagi-Tear-It-Up! Birthday Bash, v. 2.0. And, it’s a fundraiser too…
Molly and Christina are turning 40 this year, so we are really going to take this party up a notch…and we’ve decided that all of the net proceeds from ticket sales will go to support the Maine Women’s Lobby – which is ALSO turning 40 this year! Since 1978, the Maine Women’s Lobby has been an advocate on issues affecting the lives of Maine women and girls. The Lobby works to create a future that is free from violence, free from discrimination, with access to health care, and real economic security.
Like last year, our friends at Maine Beer Company and Austin Street Bewery will be donating beer (yay!), and Hart & Harp distributors are donating some wine (yay again!). Each ticket purchased will include 2 drink tickets that can be used for our donated beer and wine, but if you prefer something different, a cash bar is available as well.
Lastly, our dress-up theme was so successful last year that we are continuing the trend for v. 2.0: Dig into the back of your closet and get out your best NEON clothes and accessories. No excuses. Dressing up for parties is fun!
We are combining our friend networks to ensure that we have a full house of fun people, who are ready to dance and support a great cause. Get your tickets early, because we have limited space – from now through December 14, tickets are $40 each. From December 2 – 14 (or until we sell out), tickets are $45 each; each ticket includes 2 drink tickets. All net profits from ticket sales will be donated to the Maine Women’s Lobby. If you can’t make it to the party, please consider making a donation directly by going to the donation page on the Lobby’s website.
